Sentiment Analyzer

Analyze the emotional tone of any text. Detects positive, negative, or neutral sentiment with confidence scores for each sentence.

How It Works

This tool uses a lexicon-based approach to sentiment analysis. Each word in your text is compared against a built-in dictionary of positive and negative terms, each with an associated intensity score. The sentiment of each sentence is computed by summing the scores of matched words and normalizing by sentence length.

The analyzer also handles basic negation — words like "not", "never", "no", and "don't" preceding a sentiment word will flip its polarity. Intensifiers like "very", "extremely", and "really" amplify the score. The overall sentiment is the weighted average across all sentences.

This approach works well for general-purpose text such as reviews, comments, and social media posts. For domain-specific or highly nuanced text, dedicated machine learning models may provide better accuracy.
